Tangled Heart

Short Poem

By Author Billiejo PriestleyPublished 8 days ago 1 min read

It feels like I'm burning.

From the inside out, right?

No space is free from it.

What else did you expect?

I'm not sure I can survive.

It was never meant to be pain-free

It shouldn't hurt this much!

If it didn't, would it be real?

How? How does it hurt so much?

Some don't just burn you.

It feels that way!

Some cut you open, and laugh at your insides as you fall to your knees.

Which is what she did to me.
