Talk to the moon

With its bright silver coat

It merely shines on

Full, waxing, or waning

Casting no judgement

Rather, listening calmly, coolly

*

Talk to the moon

Tell how you don’t fit in

No comfort in your own skin

Tell of your shame

For loving one of your gender

*

Talk to the moon

Tell of the bullies

Who mock and place blame

Tell of the ones

Who cause physical pain

*

Talk to the moon

Tell of those who support

With smiles and nods

Tell of parades

Full of rainbows and cheers

*

Talk to the moon -

Your silent, silvery confidante

Hears all and casts no judgement
