take me down to the river

about growing older, what gets easier, and what doesn’t

By angela hepworthPublished 11 days ago • 1 min read

when life gives you lemons, just make lemonade

it’s easy to do, just don’t make it taste bland

when life gives you change, well, you do what you can

and you hope those around you will come to your aid

they say you can’t step in the same river twice

the water is always moving in a chase

but in lucky moments, you can find the light

of your earliest moments alive in this place

growing older is us starting to know

all inner celebrations exist to be seen

whether it is any small happy day, or Christmas, or Halloween

we must allow ourselves to smile and to grow
