“Beautiful, yet lonely like the rain”
The street was unusually quiet. Only the sound of rain pouring beautifully—
Or was it because I’m lonely that I think the rain sounds beautiful?
I don’t know.
Should I talk to the rain?
Will it understand me?
What I’m feeling now?
She looked at the sky as if waiting for an answer.
"Why are you so beautiful and lonely at the same time?"
A long pause. The wind whispered through the empty city.
"You’re just like me," she whispered to the sky.
"Beautiful... yet lonely."
She stepped outside.
She let the rain fall on her face,
as if each droplet could carry away a thought she couldn’t say out loud.
There was no one there. No one to pretend for.
She didn’t have to smile for anyone else now.
Her smile was soft.
Not the kind people give in photos, but the kind that slips out when something inside finally feels safe.
"Why does this feel so unreal?"
The world felt like a dream she didn’t want to wake up from.
Maybe she was imagining it all—the street, the calm, the feeling of being understood.
But even if it was just in her head,
she didn’t want it to end.
Because sometimes, the imagination is kinder than reality.
Sometimes, the rain becomes a friend when no one else is listening.
And tonight… the rain was listening.
