Happy Birthday
Introduction This is a song I wrote in 1976 for my friend Catherine for her birthday. This is from a demo tape we did for Rabid, Stiff and John Peel which you can hear here. Rabid asked which studio we used, it was just to a two track cassette. John Peel said we were primitive.

True Love Complicated

Today, my poem is inspired by "Just Give Me a Reason" by P!nk, which you can listen to below. This was one of my mother's favorite songs because it reminded her of her relationship with my father, and I think that it captures their relationship perfectly. Their love will live on long after her death.

You Break the Clock
Your loss breaks the clock As time stands still in honor Of the love you leave Author's Note: This is day nine of my fifty-day journey into the song/lyric-based senryū challenge. Today's poem is based on "Time Stands Still" by Rush, which you can listen to below. I listened to this song for the first time with my father last night. It's his favorite Rush song, and it touched me so much--and it touched HIM so much--that I had to write something inspired by it. I hope that you enjoy the song and my poem as well.
