sad poetry
The cathartic nature of poetry makes it one of the best outlets to channel feelings of sadness, emotional turmoil, grief and despair.
The Autumn Inside Us
At times, autumn doesn’t just fall on trees, It slowly descends within, unseen. We hide our withering hopes, our fading hearts, And show the world a spring that never departs. The autumn inside, none ever knows, As we silently break, where no one goes. Like leaves, we crumble, dissolve in the air, Fading into depths we alone bear. This quiet decay, so deeply concealed, Becomes a part of us, wholly sealed. As if this autumn, so cold, so still, Had merged with our being, bending our will.

No Longer Yours
I mourned your leaving, it made me cry, But now that sorrow has said goodbye. You filled my heart, my thoughts, my mind, But now your memory’s left behind. Your love was rare, a gift so true, A shining star in skies so blue. You were the one the world adored, But now that praise is heard no more. The one you hurt, who cared so much, Once bloomed with joy in your sweet touch. But now that bond is torn apart, And left behind a quiet heart. Your absence stole my words away, Where once they soared, they’ve gone astray. My poetry once reached the skies, But now it fades, no spark survives. In search of you, I broke in two, A dream once bright, now lost from view. That fire of love burned fierce and wild, But now it’s gone, no trace, no smile. I came to your door one final time, And left, with questions that no longer rhyme. Your name was once my life, my plea, But now it holds no hold on me.

The Dawn of Sorrow
It’s the dawn of sorrow, a mournful light, But who can we blame in this endless night? No heart to charm, no soul to ache, No wound remains for the heart to break. The lamps are out, their glow has died, No one waits with hope inside. This age of calm is harsh and still, No restless hearts, no burning will. Even prayers, when hands are raised, Forget their wishes, once so praised. The tales of journeys, once so clear, Now lost in dust, they disappear. It’s the dawn of sorrow, a mournful light, But who can we blame in this endless night? No heart to charm, no soul to ache, No wound remains for the heart to break. To speak of dreams, a fleeting game, For time now drags, each hour the same. We trust no season’s fleeting mood, Its whims no longer understood. We wandered paths in search of trace, A footprint’s guide, a glowing face. But no bright sun lights up the way, No golden beam turns night to day. Yet one obsession stayed alive, Through sorrow’s storm, it did survive. No grief, no blame, no spring’s delight, Could sway the heart or change its sight. Parched lips wandered the barren plains, In search of life’s elusive gains. But those who sought the stream so far, Found no river, no life’s nectar.

Unseen Harmony
The sorrow of your loss once gripped my soul, But now, that ache has lost its toll. In the splendor of your love, I once was found, You were a symbol of grace, now lost, unbound. The pain you gave me, that very heart, Once nurtured by your presence, now torn apart. Your absence swallowed all my joy and light, Once a poet with brilliance, now lost to night. In search of you, I scattered like the breeze, That longing for your touch, now gone with ease. I stood at your door, one final plea, You were my life's question, but now, none I see.
