sad poetry
The cathartic nature of poetry makes it one of the best outlets to channel feelings of sadness, emotional turmoil, grief and despair.
Damning Truths. Content Warning.
Your insidious words ringing in my ears, day after day, plaguing me at all hours. Inescapable droning tinnitus, that leaves me clawing at the wretched pealing holes in my head. The laughing, always the laughing as I cry. Wailing in abject misery and terrific pain, and crawling on my knees, begging for release from your sadistic games and legalistic contracts.

Two Paths of Justice
In this world, the rules divide, For rich and poor, a different tide. A law that bends for those with gold, While shadows trap the weak and cold. The mighty walk through gates of flame, Untouched by fire, untouched by blame. Their robes are stitched with power’s thread, While common souls are left to dread. A courtroom's scales, they tip and lean, Where justice bows to unseen queen. The wealthy man, with pockets deep, Finds doors unlocked, no secrets keep. But poor hearts fight in endless maze, Lost in courts and harsh malaise. The law’s a snare, a cage, a wall, Where many stumble, few stand tall. The powerful slip through cracks so wide, While others fall, no place to hide. This world’s a stage of harsh divide— Where rules are bent, and truth denied. Yet still, the weak hold burning hope, To break these chains, to learn, to cope. For one day soon, the scales may sway, And justice dawn a brighter day. Until that time, the truth we speak— The law’s a flame for the mighty, A trap for the weak. — By Atif Jamal
