A Melody Of Unchanging Promises
In the prisons of loyalty, Do punishments ever change truly? Hearts shift with seasons anew, But do winds alter their avenue? All my prayers, my dear companion, Are tied to you, my heart’s dominion. If love is true and pure, divine, Can prayers ever change their line? Some uphold love while holding on, Others cherish it once it’s gone. Loyalty wears many forms and hues, But does devotion ever lose its truths?

The "you" in me has passed away.
What little remains of me today, The "you" in me has passed away. Reflections came and filled my soul, But where they went, I’ll never know. I wished my wounds would start to heal, Yet wounds on wounds, I came to feel. A fleeting moment, I devoured time, The ages passed, both yours and mine. What little remains of me today, The "you" in me has passed away. Such darkness grew within my core, That even shadows dared no more. I sank into my heart’s deep sea, Then oceans drowned themselves in me. What have I become, I cannot say, What colours now in me hold sway?__________________________________

Leaves of Grass, by Walt Whitman
"Leaves of Grass" is a book of poems that praises the human form and condition while also delving into issues of democracy, nature, love, and friendship. The book is notable for its departure from traditional poetry form, with a free verse style and the use of common language. The poet presents himself as both a unique and universal person, expressing the common American experience and identity. The collection was also known for its provocative content at the time of publishing, which included candid depictions of sexuality.

Let’s Go Back in Time
Let’s Go Back in Time A journey so beautiful, lost in time, Let’s look back and rewind. You'll find that your companion, your friend, Was there for you, until the very end. Even the places hold secrets untold, Whispering stories from days of old. Can’t you recall the steps you took? With your beloved, your life’s precious book. The road you walked sang your tune, Joyful verses under the moon. So here’s my song, let me share, A melody of a time so rare. (Chorus): Oh, the journey was a fleeting dream, A happy moment, or so it seemed. Life passed like a sweet refrain, A brief, bright spark in time’s domain. We were young, lost in our skies, Dreams unfolding before our eyes. But time moved on, and when we woke, The words we spoke became a cloak. She turned to me, my journey’s flame, And said, "It’s done, we’ve won the game." I smiled back, and with a sigh, "My dream was you, my lullaby." (Bridge): The road was drawn by time’s own hand, A fleeting path, both wild and planned. My journey’s love, my heart, my friend, Together we walked until the end. (Chorus): Oh, the journey was a fleeting dream, A happy moment, or so it seemed. Life passed like a sweet refrain, A brief, bright spark in time’s domain.

We were no longer yours
The winds had stilled, this much was true, Yet the evening sighed, as if it knew. The yellow leaves, in the storm’s embrace, Had heard a tale of a mournful place. And as they listened, they softly wept, Their sorrow deep, no peace they kept. What grief had struck, no one could say, For trees were torn from roots that day. We searched for you in every lane, Through valleys deep, through hills of pain, On every peak, in each ravine, Yet not a trace of you was seen. We told our hearts to wait and see, "The wind will pause, and then we’ll be Upon the path where you reside, And find the way to stand beside." But this sweet hope, it led astray, And wrecked our hearts along the way. The winds had stilled, this much was true, Yet endless years had passed us too. The forests of our hair turned white, As silver lined each strand in sight. The sky lost stars, the roses faded, The joys of love, long decimated. The friends who once had filled our heart, From life’s embrace, they did depart. But oh, above all griefs that stayed, One truth remained, that still dismayed: We were no longer yours, you see, And you, no longer mine to be. The winds had stilled, this much was true, Yet endless years had passed us too!Start writing...
