I lift you to space your legs, planetary rings, claiming their orbit

I shake a snow globe watching the glass hold a world that’s not meant for me
the bark dulls my blade amber sap commiserates weeping through each cut
My tongue learns your spine everything inside you mutes except your yearning
I memorize you down to your cephalic vein rolling up your sleeve
your eyelids flutter nestling into the comfort found upon my lap
your black car pulls in and my knees obey gravity as I inch forward
the blood moon mimics the scarlet flush of your cheeks as I lean closer
Her hair in the wind the aromatic tether to this breath I take
my hand locates yours and your defenses lower like the setting sun
