Heat sparks between us. Layers of clothes on the floor. Winter is screaming.

Snow falling still They built the fire for me I am on my pyre
Small heat in winter Is the challenge I accept I give just enough
Missed turn in a storm Stranger on new roads. Highlights’ Glow on street sign. Home.
A bed time huddle. Several seconds of fire. Winter exhales slow.
On the frigid nights Our feet wrapped in twisted sheets Your love heats my heart
After-hours pulse. A private spark lights the dark. Winter blues can't stay.
Tundra bites through gloves. Friend in igloo lights a match. Close; it stings. I sigh.
