The Monkey King's Journey chapter:1,2
Chapter 1: Birth of the Stone Monkey Upon Flower Fruit Mountain, where clouds do cling, A magic stone bore the Monkey King. Carved by the heavens, with earth’s embrace, Born of wind and water, a fateful place. From molten core and celestial flame, The stone split wide, and Wukong came. With eyes like fire, his gaze so bold, A creature of wonder, both fierce and old. Through rivers and forests, he danced with cheer, Leading the beasts, instilling no fear. With wisdom rare for one so free, He climbed the peak and claimed the sea. One day, the monkeys, in playful quest, Sought the source where waters rest. A waterfall roared, its secret concealed, To cross its threshold, the brave appealed. “Who dares to leap where torrents race, Shall earn the crown and lead our race!” With a boundless heart and fearless grin, Wukong leapt, and light poured in. Beyond the veil, a palace stood, A treasure of stone, of earth and wood. The monkeys hailed their king that day, “The Monkey King!” they cried in sway. Thus rose a ruler, bright and strong, With courage vast and spirit long. But fate had plans beyond his sight, For Wukong’s tale was yet to ignite.

Their vision clear, yet rooted in care, They dream of futures just and fair. Fields of plenty and skies of peace, Where every struggle finds release. A leader true knows power’s weight, The lives it shapes, the hearts it breaks. They wield it not for self or gain, But to ease their people’s pain. In moments dark, when storms arise, They stand steadfast beneath the skies. A pillar firm, a beacon’s light, A guardian through the longest night. They plant the seeds of unity, Nurturing roots of community. Each hand extended, each bridge rebuilt, Each burden shared, each dream fulfilled. Not one to bask in the glory’s glow, Their joy is seeing progress grow. A humble soul, they understand, True power lies in serving the land. Oh, leader just, with heart sincere, You banish doubt, you quell our fear. In your guidance, we see the way, Toward brighter dawns and kinder days. And though the crown may weigh your brow, You wear it with grace, as you do now. A shepherd of dreams, both bold and wise, A true leader lifts a nation’s skies.

He Who Laughs Last
He Who Laughs Last The Evergreen State, circa 2010. All objective metrics presaged an uphill battle. The Southwestern mesa-sized stage, while perfect for larger-than-life musical productions, would be wasted on a lone, stationary, monologist. Said stage's hypoxic height would preclude making eye contact with the crowd, never mind meaningful connections made through shared eye gaze. The domed ceiling overhead, stratospheric at its apex, ate laughter like Langoliers eat space-time continuum leavings. As mirth making was the trade I plied, I'd be forced to gauge audience response by ear. Under such circumstances, a “killer” can be made to feel like he’s fighting for his life, while a comic on life support can be made to feel like a casualty.
