Until You Can't See Land

Swim, until you can’t see land,

Can’t hear whispered wants.

Until your needs leave your hand,

To join waves as one.

Swim, to leave action for shore.

To forget your feet.

Until the current becomes the floor,

And becomes you.

Swim, so speech is a luxury,

Left for the seagulls.

So, you have no compulsory,

Script to reread.

Swim, to escape the confide,

Designed by the mind.

Let thought drift away with the tide,

To forget your name.

Swim, away from demand,

Float on, weightless.

Leave behind judgments on land

Become a shell in the sea.

Nm read it again out loud and I change my mind. It flowed nicely.

Wonderful poem. Might I suggest removing one of the two “the” in the Until the current becomes the floor line. It interrupted the flow as I was reading but if that was your intention then by all means keep it! Very powerful imagery.
