Swarms
From The Book of Souls, a first collection in progress.
Scurry through the braches on the way to capture dinner,
Trap or kill i skin my prey disposing of the innards.
I'm trapped within a cycle of consume or be consumed,
And each day another chance to choose i always press resume.
A billion organisms eat away his every molecule,
The daily synthesis enough to keep him from a box or tubes.
Distributed upon the wind, or sprinkled in the sea by kin,
I'd rather decompose within a ditch and let the critters in.
The organisms closest kin is branching symbiosis,
And the networks never seem to cease not even with necrosis.
I'm a loner i can turn a day of total isolation
Into a million quests through time and paths of divination.
I'm a source of radiation and I'm twisting the field,
If you Rendered it to numbers Fibonacci revealed.
On every level chorus humming to vibrations divine,
A billion messengers connected through dimensions of light.
And the patterns i yield are geometric in form,
Layers of symmetry arranged throughout dimensions in swarms.
I got a call from something wicked in dark of the night,
Told me he could help me conquer everything in my sight,
Offered me an endless sea of indescribable perks,
Said you can have it but you know how this works.
No thanks.
Swarms everything connected and arranged.
There's a colony of fungi burrowing into your brain.
Swarms, everyone placed under a hex,
It's like a z day all this sht is kinda difficult to miss.
As i step from the forest i arrive in the light,
I find it strange we seem to alter everything in our sight.
All environments are crippled by encroachment of it,
Its kind of silly to consider all the nonsense we built.
There's a place for every person to acquire their fix,
There was one a sacred site where the new dollar tree sits.
A dozen variations all exactly the same,
every where you go is almost like the place where you came.
