Suspended in Ambivalence

By Alan IV

Detached from reality..

Insidious, my fear of the unknown builds to a crescendo..

Seldom, I turn off my TV at night..

The orchestra of existence keeps me company, my unconventional symphony..

Rather stay in San Junipero, where the lovers roam..

Among the pink-sunset skies, I can live out my dreams like Anna Nicole…

Creative by nature, artificial by design..

The trees may not be real, but they tower over me just the same…

It is me, that swings back and forth…

On my pendulum, suspended in ambivalence..

Never quite sure if I am stranded, or exactly where I’m supposed to be..

surreal poetry
