Surviving The Storm

Something We All Have To Do

A feeling is how it's described,

Hairs stand up and goose bumps rise,

Chills rush across flesh, a feeling that won't subside,

Gut reactions, they should be followed with careful but open eyes,

A storm's coming, coming too soon,

Right in the middle of the weather, the place to be,

Heed the warnings and be ready, it comes soon,

Caught in the middle is you or me.

Seeing stormy weather has happened before,

You see it when the clouds roll in,

The storm that comes will bring great horror,

Great pain and suffering soon will begin,

Surviving the storm, something you must,

Live to fight again,

Look only to those you hold dear and trust,

Getting ready for a fight, not knowing if you can win,

Taking a loss you must prepare for and accept,

Loss in fights is part of the deal,

Pray God will look out and their soul will be kept,

Knowing that much pain is never going to heal,

Surviving the storms, just a part of our being,

Just soldiers who continue the fight,

After too many storms they are seeing,

It's harder to tell between wrong and right,

But they survive the storms...
