Surface Impact

The Physics of Loss.

By Paul StewartPublished 5 months ago • 1 min read

I exhale tiredness, inhale confusion

I know life beyond this bubble exists

But can't feel beyond the protection

Because yes it's protective, a fortress

But it also feels like house arrest

I feel everything

I know it exists but it's surface impact

So I stay locked away as I process

Digest and avoid, while my limbs

They feel weighed down by it all

I feel

Death stalking us. With demands

Of sacrifice
