sunshine

(dance)

By Sara Published 2 years ago • 1 min read

the crystal fingers

of cold

will come

to grip my heart

but for now

the sun bathes the meadows

in gold and shadows

and my lips

curl like the petals of a rose.

for now the leaves spill

like whispers,

for now the wind is shy,

for now the waters kiss the sky

in a gentle dance.

before the cruelty

of the white mother

there is light.

before the world

descends into little houses

buried in styrofoam

there is sunshine.

i know the night looms near

but for now

there is sunshine

and i will dance.
