The freeing bonds of friendship

Blurred sunlit landscapes, moments racing by
Dissolve within the shadows and the light.
The rusted rail wanes, its shrieking sad sigh,
Alone within the carriage, out of sight.
Until those purgatory gates release
From deep within the urban prison now
The sinless sinful souls awaiting peace
It rushes in, the seabreeze heals somehow.
Soon held aloft, above the crashing waves
He twirls me down, cool water, warm embrace.
A gentle shield, from walls of ice he saves
Me with his form, his smile, his heart, his face.
The setting summer sun captures the end,
A perfect June day outing with my friend.
