Sunset on the Moon

A rare experience

The glowing rays of a rarely seen sun

Gleam ever so brilliantly off the gentle moon

The shadows hit the craters, mount and dune

As if they were twinkling so soon

The darkness of night was surely brought

By a fleeting glimpse of the heavenly sight

The glowing colours seemed almost sought

Under the starry somber night

The silent land of craters and hills

Appeared to come alive and shine

The orange and purple of the twilight spilled

Amid the darkness, so divine

Though never to reach the flaming shore

The glimmer off the silent moon

Late in the night, will speak ever more

Of the beauty of the rare sunset, up so high, so soon

The verbiage is as colorful as the image, though I picture it more flowery.
