Calm dark night turned panicked. Rain thumps my head. At first, it’s all silent then madness. I hear the cries the sirens. The panic settles deep the fear creeps up. Family gathers death arrives. The day we are supposed to worship the Lord I beg him instead don’t leave me alone. Don’t take him away. Angry I turn away I cry alone. I mourn what I lost. I struggle with grief. It doesn’t get better. It gets easier. It never goes away, but no longer am I alone
