Summer Whispers

if you listen...

Those Whispers fluttering past the lobe

Subtly swiping past the reddened rim

Softly singing sweeping symphonies

Of better 'morrows and warmer December days

When sandals replace boots

And lemonade takes hot cocoa’s place

When ice skating melts into shimmery pools

And coats give away to bathing suits

When frozen fingers morph into sweaty palms

And reddened cheeks adapt to sun burnt noses

When snow waters the dormant flower beneath it

And the shy sun blooms into a merciless oppressor

Ah, those summer whispers that flutter past the lobe

Like soft butterfly feet on outgoing petals

singing so sprightly

Hey, wait up I'm coming soon
