Summer walks

Sand and ale

Summer walks, so long ago,

shirtsleeves and sandals afoot.

Wooden boats hired for to row,

sun shines and no one cares a hoot.

The days endless and benign,

no stress or worries to shadow minds.

Good ale and winds gentle fine,

watch the world without need of lines.

Pie and pint fit for king,

hello and fare thee well with smile.

No rush or hurry made us sing,

time to breath and rest awhile.

Time moved slow in gentle Suffolk sun,

not even children wished to run.
