Summer's Gentle Rustle

a poem

By Jane KattPublished 13 days ago 1 min read

I wrote this poem on a quiet summer afternoon, inspired by the gentle rustle of gardenias and the warm memories that come with the season. It's a reflection of those peaceful moments when nature and nostalgia blend seamlessly.

----------

Whispers of wind slip through the singing forest,

Hiding in the lush secrets of summer's heart.

Diary pages hold subtle, unspoken words,

Sunlit fragments kiss the scent of grass.

Days of endless tenderness turn old and quaint,

Drawing curtains to shield the light.

Afternoon dreams replay past moments,

Memories flow like scenes in a film.

Gardenias sway, their rustle a sweet chord,

Melodies of yesteryears echo in the air.

Warm summer memories loop in my headphones,

A symphony of nostalgia gently plays.

The sun's rays scatter through leafy canopies,

Nature's whispers blend with cicada songs.

Time weaves stories in the quiet shade,

Echoes of the past linger softly.

In the embrace of summer's gentle warmth,

We find solace in nature's tender touch.

Moments of peace and reflection intertwine,

Creating a tapestry of cherished memories.
