Dazzling brilliant sun
A hot cloudless summer's day
A perfect cerulean sky
Off to the beach we go today.
A dynamic canvas of vibrant blue sea
A scattered field of glittering diamond tips
As far as my eyes can see
Refracting light over the water's golden lips.
A salty warm breeze greets you and me
Hidden notes of earthy ocean flow
Sunbeams piercing through the sea
Shifting patterns of light and shadow.
Coarse, golden, sandy beach
Gentle flats and wide dunes
Miles of land at water's reach
Rippled patterns greet the sea.
Floating among the waves
Bobbing heads, splashing din
A current carries me away
Undulating swells caress my skin.
The world fades for a moment's bliss
Beneath the swirls of oscillating tide
The warmth from the sun's kiss
Reaches the water on the ocean side.
A perfect day of sea and sand.
We say goodbye to the beach and head inland.
