Summer in LA

A memory from my first trip to Los Angeles with my acting friends after graduation, away from my family for the first time.

I found summer days that made me wait for winter nights no longer

City of dreams so real I could feel its triumph from the air

Igniting passion hot like the fire in its sunrise, stronger

Rays of gold blending into my skin, warm and true but rare

I followed the golden trails towards its rainbow on the sand

A different kind of Venice but still, swiftly I fell in love

Finding freedom in my true self on this unfamiliar land

A comfort indescribable, ethereal energy from above

Cotton candy skies fed me sweetness in abundance

Cool splashes soothe my feet like healing waters for the soul

Tranquil waves left me unbound, a first taste of independence

A summer like no other, clothed in warmth no longer cold

Call me crazed for still dreaming of those cotton candy skies

For on the other side of the world, I found home in my eyes
