And it’s okay!

Do you ever feel people think you are more than you are,

I wonder if summer also gets that same feeling,

Do you ever feel like people make assumptions from afar,

I wonder if summer ever feels that part of itself is worth concealing.

Do some summer days feel like they are something they’re not,

Especially the ones when the sun doesn’t shine as bright,

The days where for some reason they just aren’t as hot,

I wonder if summer ever feels it isn’t doing everything right.

I wonder if that’s why the summer rain dries up so fast,

The summer is trying to cover up a moment it wasn’t perfect,

The earth soaks up the rain and the sun comes out to hide the past,

Summer does a good job of disguising what impacts it.

But what summer needs to realize is that it’s doing okay,

And that it deserves all the recognition that comes its way.
