Summer Diet Survival Plan

Diet oh no, I hate that word

Summer Diet Survival Plan

The diet lasted half a day

Until the biscuits called my name

I tried to walk the weight away

Then drove to buy snacks all the same

The leggings fought for dear old life

The buttons begged to be set free

My mirror caused internal strife

Still cake kept whispering softly to me

I promised salads every night

With sparkling water on the side

Then chips appeared within my sight

And all good judgment quickly died

The scales and I no longer speak

Our friendship finally came undone

I face them once or twice a week

Then blame bad lighting just for fun

Summer clothes remain untouched

Hidden deep inside a drawer

My confidence feels slightly crushed

Each time I try them on once more

Friends say “you carry it so well”

While passing me another treat

So now my waistline rings the bell

Every single time I eat

Exercise videos fill me with dread

All that jumping looks extreme

I’d rather snack in bed instead

And live inside a takeaway dream

So if this body stays the same

I’ll simply laugh and own the view

Because life without crisps feels insane

And honestly… chips comfort me too
