Cicadas chirping wake me from my dream My eyes they sweat I try to wipe them dry A butterfly flies past her wings do gleam Bees hover over flowers float on by

Two ladybirds they find each other's heart A dragonfly is waiting by a stream Is there a God so grand to make such art? Commune with nature I marvel this scene

In this oasis there's a willow tree It's shade provides relief from summer sun Long leaves they filter dust and offer peace Tis here I lay in comfort, my Eden

I lay my head upon the grass and sigh Return to slumber let the day go by
