Summer

Enjoying the Sunshine

By Michelle BridgesPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

Branches dancing in the gentle breeze

Showing their pickings to the birds and bees

Sunlight warming the blooming crop

As juicy fruits are ready to drop

Birds chatting with their vocal songs

Now that the young have left their homes

Honey bees busy on the nectar hop

And fly around your sweet fizzy pop

Rays warming your lily white skin

The Sun dodging clouds that are paper thin

Picnics by the river or in the local park

Enjoying the great outdoors until it gets dark

Summer is here for a few weeks at least

Let’s all get together for the barbecue feast

So when the sun is showing its face

Embrace the warmth of this happy place
