For comforts of ease, I will not go quietly.

Ambitions like Zeus, beyond big and mighty.

With plenty of passion and surprise left in me,

Licking my dreams like a sort of sweet candy.

High on the rush, the sugared delights,

the hardworking days and the most sleepless of nights.

Jump in the river of soda and float.

It's a shock to me now how little they know.

In my heart, in my mind, the feelings I tow.

Been praying and saving for what seems like forever,

Now to lean, pedal down, to be purposely better.

For all the time money buys (which for the record is none)

for every rebirth, another one's done,

you'll pay for your life with what you have chosen.

Pay back what you owe with those words left unspoken.

Not getting back what's been lost in the past,

better now than tomorrow, when you'll finish dead last.

Don't get lost in a crowd because of your fear.

To brighter days, toast our beers in a cheer.

When your teeth start to ache as you search for your worth

Remember the bees who hum on the Earth.

Rest will not carry, so you mustn't cease,

Honeycomb to my flower, be the buzz in the tree.

Sugar dusting the land, a pure powdery white.

Know in the end, there's no strike at midnight.

Lick that lollipop dry until your cheeks bleed

Suck down the nectar, and of your life take the lead.

Not to be merely counted, unless number one.

And don't write me out yet for I've only begun.

Some fantastic lines in here Merrie! Wonderful imagery, and I particularly like “Ambitions like Zeus, beyond big and mighty.” It flows nicely throughout, and the linking of what seems to be sugar with energy and effort in daily life is a unique take! Nicely done😊
