So by Friday, he felt invincible. “See?” he told his friend Danny as they walked home from school. “No sugar, no problem.” Danny raised an eyebrow. “You’re gonna cave. You always do.”

“Not this time,” Terry said confidently. But the weekend had other plans.

On Saturday, Terry’s mom sent him to the store to pick up milk and bread. It seemed harmless enough. He grabbed what he needed and headed for the checkout. Then he saw it: a display packed with brightly colored bags of candy, all marked 50% OFF.Terry stopped in his tracks. He could feel his resolve weakening.
