The best part? He hadn’t bought a single piece of candy in over a month. On a hot July afternoon, Terry and his mom went to check out a used car he’d found online. It wasn’t flashy—a ten-year-old Honda Civic—but it was in good condition and within his budget.

As he handed over the cash, Terry felt a sense of pride he’d never felt before. He’d done it. He’d beaten his addiction, saved his money, and achieved his goal.

Driving home in his new car, Terry couldn’t help but smile. For the first time in a long time, he felt like he was in control of his life. And that was sweeter than any candy he’d ever tasted.
