Suffocating

Pain Gripping Tightly

You left me with a broken heart.

Pain grips tightly holding fast suffocating.

Tears dropping from closed eyes.

Memories flooding a broken heart.

A year has passed and yet it was just yesterday that you went away.

Sleepless nights face in my hands trying to understand.

Wishing for one more long night.

One more game night with drinks and laughter.

One more long talk about everything and nothing at all.

Many days since I have wanted to turn to you and tell you about my day.

But you stole our hearts away.

Did you think that we wouldn’t understand?

How could you leave us here to do this without you?
