From Halloween frights

To “Holy Nights,”

Thanksgiving meals, together,

And shopping sprees

To trimming trees

And bundling for the weather -

*

The Holidays!

A maddening maze

That leads into December

When, finally,

The Christmas tree

Inspires us to remember

*

That life, itself,

My little elf,

Is ours, just for the taking

And Santa's real,

And love can heal

A heart that might be breaking.

*

So, Trick- or-Treat,

Give thanks and eat

And all throughout the Season,

May your eyes gaze,

These Holidays,

On your own, special reason.

I had to take at least one shot at this fun, unofficial challenge from Laura Pruett:

Thanks for reading!
