Stress

fractures of the broken, peel the innocence

like nails revealing bare bone

taking control creating the impotence

that exposes and keeps me alone

dripping its bile like a venomous snake

hissing and covered in dirt

crawling damp, out of the grave

laying open the scars from the hurt

filling my mouth with wet soil and ash

to hinder the breaths that might follow

cutting the surface, infecting the scratch

forcing my stretched gullet to swallow

permeating every inch of my being

like a storm spinning out of control

silencing my voice, drowning out while I scream

until it's obliterated my soul
