STRENGTH

Poem

Created by me on Night cafe

Why do you assume I am alright?

Is it because of the confidence you see?

Or is it the way I carry myself?

Are you unable to see,

Your chains are breaking me.

The stigma you see is just another chain placed over my shoulders.

"Strength"

Why are you cursing me?

You were not what I wanted to be.

And I no longer care that was what I had to be.

"Strength"

You prevent me from being weak without realizing you are killing me.

Each link to the stigma is a curse; it only shatters a part of me that wishes to fucking breathe.

"Strength"

How many will stand in the wake of the dam they broke?

Will you shift? Will that strength be turned into a weapon of blame when it all comes crashing down?

"Strength"

Will they remember how long you held up the dam that flooded their homes?

Or will the strength that you were praised for turn into a blade of shame that you were not strong enough to protect their homes from falling into the chaos?

"Strength"

How could you let this happen to me?

How do I tell those who ask, 'Why did you not come to me?' that it is them who made it impossible for me to be weak in front of them.

"Strength"

Will they see that it is you who is now making me bleed?
