This poem is made up of two Senryūs:

Strawberry cheesecake

The day we celebrate you

I will eat you whole!

Until your day comes

I will eat only one slice

It’s better than none

A/N: National Cheesecake Day, established in 1985, is annually celebrated across the United States on 30 July. The origin of this celebration is unclear, but who needs to know when the most important thing is that you get to eat cheesecake!

Some sources say it was conceived to celebrate the popular dessert and the many variations of cheesecake. Many restaurants and bakeries offer special deals and promotions on this day.
