“Stranger”

“In the Storm”

I feel like a stranger in my own life,

counting the stars as the years pass by.

Wondering if my dreams are too heavy for me to bare.

Wondering if my expectations are just too high.

I want to reach out and touch the divine, yet I feel shackled by its design.

The rain clouds gather as my tears start to fall.

Look into my eyes and you will see the storm,

these clouds haven’t parted since the day I was born.

I’m a stranger to this world, a stranger to this life;

but I’m not a stranger to the thunder that keeps me up at night.

I’m not a stranger to the thunder inside.
