Echoes of grim past

CONTENT WARNING: the linked audio is from a song about horrific racial murders, public spectacle lynchings, that took place in the 1930s.

Over 6,000 documented racial terror lynchings took place in US states from 1865 to 1950, with numbers reaching a peak in the period 1890-1920.

You may find, as I do, that this song is hard to listen to, but it records an episode of history that should never be forgotten. The lessons of history are so often grim, harsh and hard to learn, but learn from them we must.
