the humans swim by in a cluster

empty heads and thoughtless actions

just the hustle and bustle

bumping, jostling, fussing about

trying to just get from point A to point B

the path of least possible resistance

one track brains programmed to repeat twice a day

the monotony consumes

where is the adrenaline?

the blood pumps far too slowly for my taste

diminished excitability it seems

stuck to cutting loose on the evenings and weekends

work your life away just to get drunk

countless ideas forgotten at the nine to five

what could have been said, made, written?

we force ourselves to miss out on magnificent possibilities.
