Stone Clock
if the wheel turned once more to grant a second skin
would the rebellion still fade into the dirt this time
or would we walk the perimeter of our future
with the clay, the loam, the flint
the patches of nettles by the backwater
a green nonrevolution
where we cultivate the patience of a stone
watching the seasons shift
as a clock governing the wheat
that rises in speared silent rows
