Stimulating Five Senses With A Poetic Guilty Pleasure
As Submitted To The Sensational Challenge
Somewhere
Out There
In life’s made-up fantasy world
There is a boy and a girl
Aromatic adolescent love is in the air
After professionally styling each other's hair
Advertised to be seen
Nationally on the silver screens
At the movie theater
Where the lobby cashes in on snack teasers, addictively sweeter
Featuring a luring smell
Tastefully tempting ringing Pavlov’s bell
Before engaging the photographic cast wearing gel
Listening to the pair's rollercoaster plight
Sounding friendly relations bonding tight
Hearing both sides wrong and right
Emotions flirt
Feelings hurt
Other prospect player portrayed as dirt
Comic relief combats and soothes the bitter negative cold
Protagonist still perfect and very bold
Throughout songs and montages are played
Raising the filmmakers review grade
Finishing with outstretched arms needing a hug
Touching sentiments and heartstrings are tug
When credits roll
And I realize I paid the façade fetish toll
Allowing producers to earn gold
Studio no longer sweating, fearing financial fold
Cents, nickel, maybe a dime
Do I want them to rewind
I could make the time
Experiencing everyone again
Defend
Their relationship skills
When challenged went downhill
Then coming to my senses
No need sacrificing five more pences
I loosen my collar
Saving the dollar
Leaving the stars
Driving their leased cars
Parked at the bars
Allowing them to hark
To the audience sitting quietly in the dark
Striking a nerve
Celluloid story telling must be preserved
Stating “Yes, we had fun
Until the climactic scene was done”
Making us all exclaim
Without a need to complain
During the inexpensive entertainment game
Happy ending is what we do
Then sign the contracts coming back for sequel number two
