Still, it Shimmers

The Moment Sunlight Finds You

The rain didn’t stop all at once—

it just gave up slowly,

like even the sky got tired of carrying too much.

Last night was loud.

Not just thunder,

but the kind of ache

that rattles more than windows.

I barely slept.

Everything felt too close,

too heavy,

too much.

But then morning showed up

anyway.

Didn’t knock.

Didn’t need to.

Just stretched herself across the sky

like nothing had happened,

painting the pavement gold

where puddles used to tremble.

And for a second—

I forgot to brace.

I stood still.

Watched light drip down leaves,

spill across tired rooftops,

kiss the edges of everything left standing.

Sunrise: nature’s daily reminder

that brighter skies are ahead.

The world didn’t magically get better.

Nothing was solved.

But somehow,

it hurt a little less

under all that light.

Maybe it’s not about fixing.

Maybe it’s just about finding

a softer way to hold it all.
