The clouds were still for a moment, a moment I wish had never passed.
It was so tranquil, the serenity...
I look over at him lying next to me, and he was still looking at the clouds, the still clouds-
I close my eyes.
I see an aura of a beautiful white glow... it looked more peaceful than it had for the past year. It's drifting left to right, smoothly not anxiously.
I open my eyes. The clouds were no longer still; they had started moving again.
"Happy 1 year being sober!" I shout as I open my eyes.
I laughed and repeated myself, nudging him: "Happy 1 year sober, I said!"
Still, still like the clouds before, he kept his eyes shut.
I shook him.
"Babe? Open your eyes!"
He wasn't alive...
Now that I think about it,
He was not sober.
He lied, again...
Apart of me takes a second...to realise-
If he wasn't sober, why wouldn't he have told me?
I know I would've been mad, but-
I wasn't going to judge him.
I drank shadows, he drank light, and neither of us spoke of the hunger.
He was slipping in silence from a chalice I had barely seen.
I loved his quiet, never knowing it was survival.
I shook him one more time... he didn't move.
I lay back down and rest my head on his shoulder.
My fear must've been his fear too.
There are ramifications for everything,
But lying to me, he lied to me again.
I need to stop making this all about me...
Maybe, that's why... he - never told me he wasn't sober~
You weren't sober, and I was loud.
