Static or Music?
Scratching
As a music educator, the first thing that comes to mind when I think of static is scratching. Please listen to the following video as you read.
.
.
Chicka chicka chshhhhh
Scra- scra- scratch
Beat pounding, throbbing, thumping,
Interrupted with a catch.
Rhythm flows for just a bit, then jerks with sudden stops,
Re- re- repeating where the needle drops.
Dancers jump and flail around,
Screaming, shouting, hopelessly spellbound.
Faster tempo, mania mounting
Records jolt and scrape.
Fevered frenzy, ever escalating
No one tries to escape.
Lights pulsing to the bass.
Inhibitions gone without a trace.
Chicka Chicka chshhh
Scra- scra- scratch
Bodies gyrate, berserk
Restraint has met its match.
Part conductor, part performer,
the master of disarray.
Give it up and make some noise
For the D- D- D- DJ.
