Stars In A Dark Distance

The night stretched far beyond the earth

Wrapped in shades of red

Like anger pouring through the sky

From everything unsaid

Clouds drifted slowly through the dark

Like sorrow without end

While lonely stars remained too far

To feel like any friend

The sea below reflected fire

Across its restless waves

Like every painful memory

Still reaching from the grave

I closed my eyes against the wind

Still hearing your goodbye

Some wounds continue living on

Long after love has died

The horizon burned in crimson light

Yet left the world so cold

A place where empty hearts survive

By learning not to fold

Each breath felt heavy in my chest

Like stones beneath the rain

Still I carried every scar

Every ounce of pain

The heavens looked so beautiful

Though filled with silent grief

Proof even shattered things can hold

A fragile kind of peace

So I remained beneath that sky

Until the dark grew thin

Knowing every storm I’ve faced

Still lives somewhere within
