they say
you don’t have to do it
all on your own.
yes you fucking do.
if you want to keep
your limbs intact
and your heart whole
keep your little feelings
locked in your chest.
if you want to
climb to the top
anyone’s hand
will pull you back
and bring you down.
they say
but you don’t have
to be lonely
but tombstones are alone
and so are stars.
nobody will be there
always.
it’s like promises
were created
to be broken
and nights were made
to be spent alone.
aren’t they dark?
i eat their lies
gag on reassurance
and take my own hand.

This was beautifully written and so true. I think the people afraid to be alone are the people who remain stuck their entire lives, because life is about change. And some changes you do have to go through alone. There’s a season for everything.
Tombstones are alone. When I drive by graveyards I always feel weird, and that's probably why….
Ur writing voice is visceral, raw and so authentic. ✨ Love
I learned it the hard way that we're always better off alone. Loved your poem!
