Starry Highway

Poem

By Mallika DharPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

A flock of golden-black migratory birds

Flies out from the pages of your blue diary,

Their wings are trembling in joy

Feeling the pull of a distant deep sky out there.

Your guests are half-asleep tonight

After celebrating the star parties nights after nights.

Your little deer ran away towards the black forest,

Disappeared through the moonless night.

On the soft velvet-chest of the dark sky

The galaxy becomes brighter and brighter -

So many stars are shining out there

As if sand grains on a sea shore.

O merciful mother-

When will your chariot come running down to us

Along that starry highway?
