Starlight and Loneliness

Two million light-years too close

Art by Iris Obscura

dreams of starlight & loneliness

bad trade — speed for severance

you blink / the universe shatters

home already dead two million times

rotting in gravity soup

-

to be light is to be absent

a slit throat of connection

a divorce decree scrawled in photons

-

& here I am

skin painted with constellations

idiot prophet nailed to her gelsack

still dripping wet sorrow

eyelids remembering what bodies are for

(yes, the stink, the spill, the fuck, the grief)

-

human? don’t flatter yourself

it is not noble

not divine

it is mucus —

squirm & cling

fumble, fuck, choke laughter

all of us jammed into a leaking bag

on a rock that won’t stop burning

-

light doesn’t cling

light just leaves

faster than time

lonelier than death

-

so let me rot with you

sticky / animal / rancid

in the slime of now

.
