A poem about love and fate

She was a child of summer, and he was the son of winter

The stars spelled out tragedy and forecast love’s splinter

They both closed their eyes and fell into a lover’s dream

Only to awake with their hearts ripping open at the seams

*************************

She sparkled with sunshine, and he chased her with night

He tried to fight against his nature, but he frosted her light

A scorching heart can not thrive in the land of ice and snow

Two hearts break as the stars tell them to let their hope go

*************************

She was his endless midnight sun, and now darkness has come

He was her north wind, and he blew her back to where she’s from

They begged the heavens to save their love and asked for a home

But the only answer received was you’re both better on your own

*************************

She was summer, and he was winter, star-crossed lovers of fate

Together they believed in the magic of the possibility love can create
